The Dom's Dungeon
From The Romance Studio comes a 5 Hearts rating. Shannon says, “Once again, the exceptionally talented Cherise Sinclair has created an absolutely breathtaking story that will touch both the reader's heart and soul. This author's red hot streak continues with this flawlessly plotted tale filled with vibrant characters and emotionally and sexually charged tension creating a riveting read to enjoy. It's a true treat to follow the sexual and emotional liberation of her deeply battered and bruised inner soul as Alex patiently and expertly guides and draws her into situations that not only push her but work to heal the woman within.
With every novel, the author's characters reveal the psychological as well as physical components of D/s relationships which seem to make the story seem much more real and compelling. MacKensie is a feisty and formidable heroine with an underlying vulnerability that makes her appealing to the reader. Alex is a caring, considerate and tough dominant hero who readers can't help falling in love with -- or at least some heavy lust. Between these two characters, trust is tested and the elements of guilt, shame and fear make the action and emotions even more soul searing. The simmering heat and enchanting sensuality of each sex scene is some of the most arousing the reader will ever read. Each BDSM scene works well to evolve the character relationship enhancing the bond that exists between them. Nicely developed secondary characters are a delight to the plot as well as to Alex and MacKensie. I dare any reader to have a dry eye at the end of this enchanting story.
This author should be at the top of every reader's favorite list!”

A Literary Nymphs Golden Blush RECOMMENDED READ and 5 Nymphs from Amazon Nymph who says, “I have to say that The Dom’s Dungeon is one hot and very intense book, both emotionally and in the heat factor. Ms. Sinclair keeps the story flowing and I found that I was immersed into the story immediately. This story is a perfect backdrop for Alex and MacKensie and all the characters are strongly written. I enjoyed watching MacKensie come out of her shell and try to overcome her insecurities.
The journey that MacKensie takes is one that all new subs should read. The author gives you a very good look at some of the expectations of the lifestyle and how it is policed by members to make sure that all experiences are truly “safe, sane and consensual”. I recommend, as you read this book, that you keep lots of ice on hand and keep the fans going. This is a book that everyone that enjoys BDSM stories should have on their bookshelf and this is one I will be reading again and again.”
Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK and 5 stars from Terri who says: This has to be the best book Ms Sinclair has written yet. Everything from the idea of a house swap to these characters draws you immediately into the story and keeps your interest throughout it.
The characters are excellent. They are not perfect and have wonderful quirks and flaws as well as strengths. MacKensie has leftover issues from her childhood that don’t make sense to anyone including MacKensie! Then again, who among us doesn’t have some sort of illogical belief that we know is illogical but we still have it. Alex has his own problems which make things interesting for MacKensie.
The emotions that are explored and so well written that you feel them. They can be overwhelming. MacKensie’s need to be loved and accepted almost hurts. Alex’s desire to give MacKensie what she needs is intense. Ms Sinclair out did herself in this aspect of the story. While the plot is good, it’s the emotions that bring it to life and it’s an explosive life.
This is a book with BDSM as a central part and that life style is depicted in the story. It is done with taste and flair. And, as always, Ms Sinclair stresses safety, sanity, and consent.
With each book she puts out getting better and better, I look forward to each one more and more. This is a stand alone book and at this point not part of any series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
A Recommended Read and 5 kisses from Lila at Two Lips Reviews who says: Once again Cherise Sinclair weaves a captivating tale with The Dom’s Dungeon. I don’t know how she keeps doing it, but her stories just get better and better. The psyche of Mackenzie will make your heart ache. She was so terribly abused and alone as a child and young adult that you find yourself rooting for the two of them to make it.
As with all Ms. Sinclair’s stories, this was a page turner and I just kept thinking to myself - oh please, let this work for Mac, please, please. I’ll leave the ending for you to discover. The Dom’s Dungeon is a BDSM novel so beware. There is very strong sexual content in the book that some may find objectionable. There are experiences that Alex gives Mackenzie to help free her from her past and help her realize what love really is. I personally found it enlightening.
Fantastic job again by Cherise Sinclair!
From Fern at Whipped Cream Reviews, 5 Cherries! Fern says: If you love the work of Cherise Sinclair, you’re going to love her newest, The Dom’s Dungeon. As with her previous work, you can expect a high amount of emotional tension entwined with wriggle-and-squirm in your seat BDSM content.
The heroine, Mackensie (aka Mac) has had a hard life. Raised in foster care following the death of her parents, she ran away from what she believed was a terrible situation only to land in a horrific one – as a teenage prostitute. Being rescued from the streets and offered a safe haven by a kind man and his wife allowed her to hope for a better future, but she still harbors the nightmares of youth, and refuses to place herself in a position of submission again. After the people who gave her a new life pass away, she accepts a house trade in order to begin anew in a new city. What she doesn’t expect is her curiosity to get the best of her when she locates a locked door, forces it open, and tests out the bench inside what is obviously a BDSM dungeon.
Alex Fontaine is a man who has grown somewhat bored with his life – including his need for D/s. The sub he topped for a time has grown aggravatingly possessive, and the trip he planned to sort things out is cancelled when he comes to the rescue of an old lady facing a cracked-out purse snatcher. A superficial knife wound means it’s time to return home and rethink his plans. He anticipates questions from his house guest and plans to offer a place to stay until she lands a job. What he finds when he arrives home pushes those initial perceptions and ideals aside – a beautiful woman laying face down on his spanking bench, just begging for attention. Entering into his private space deserves punishment, and whaddya know, that suits him just fine.
A hotter than propane spanking turns into a tentative arrangement: If Mac will pose as Alex’s sub for the duration of her stay to shake the clingy sub who won’t leave him be, he won’t turn her in for picking the lock to his dungeon which specifically goes against the house trading rules. She agrees, but with one stipulation – no sex. Not now, not ever. He agrees, but upon seeing the darkness lingering her gaze, feels the Dominant instincts within stir. She needs something only he can provide, and even as he agrees to her terms vows he will unlock her secrets and help her overcome the past that haunts her.
Although I don’t use this word often, I certainly will now – wow. The Dom’s Dungeon is a story that delivers the goods. Ms. Sinclair didn’t pull any punches and focuses on the heart wrenching emotional history of the characters as much as the joys and freedoms that exist in a D/s relationship. Mac is frail but strong, and her progression from uncertain and insecure to willing and determined is a joy to witness. Of course, none of that would be possible without the caring and perceptive Alex, who sees more in this woman than she is willing to. Through his eyes, she will finally be able to see herself as a victim who escaped a depraved situation versus being an agreeable participant. The undercurrents of abuse were handled beautifully, and added darkness and depth to the work. This is my favorite kind of love story, with a tortured heroine and a protective hero, and I lapped it up like a cat with cream.
Fans of this genre have to read The Dom’s Dungeon, another hit-the-nail-on-the-head winner by the BDSM Mistress Cherise Sinclair. The writing is superb (as always), the dialogue is both sensual and laugh-out-loud funny, and the characters will remain with you long after you’ve finished. This is one for the keeper shelf. Be sure to get your own copy to covet.
Rating of 5 from Gabrielle at Got Erotic Romance who says: I loved this story from beginning to end. Cherise Sinclair writes a wonderful story that pulls you in with great characters so full of emotion and depth. I enjoyed the love and trust that developed between Alexander and Mackensie. Alexander is a wonderful man and Dom. Being very observant he sees the pain and fear in Mackensie right away. Mackensie is a sweet woman who not only works her way into Alexander’s heart but the readers as well. She is spunky and willing to try just about anything never one to back down from a challenge. These two seem to be made for each other. The beautiful bond that the two share is a special one that not many can find.
Even the secondary characters pull you in as well and have you wanting to know more about their lives. As scary as the other Doms like Drake and Steele are they still capture your interest. I would love to visit them and the club Chains again to find out more about their adventures.
This book is not only a hot read but it is also well written and delves into the strong emotions and the damaged psyche of a woman that needs more than just reassurance. I for one am eagerly awaiting the next book by Cherise Sinclair, this author has quickly become an automatic buy for me.
A rating of “You Gotta Read” from Janelle of YouGottaRead Reviews. “There is something very relatable about this story. No matter what your teen years held, there is something in them you regret. As teenagers we are all searching for acceptance, and some continue searching for it long after our teen years fade away. Where we find that acceptance, is not always where we expect. I found myself sympathizing with Mac, even when I could not empathize with her plight.
This story does the BDSM very, very well. Sometimes it is very hot, but there are times when it’s not. Far too often this form of kink is used without considering the full scope of what such a relationship entails, from both parties. I find it very refreshing to find a story that addresses an alternative lifestyle from all its angles, rather then simply focusing on one aspect.
Overall, this is an excellent book. I was excited to find out what happened next and wondering how the characters would handle it. And even though I knew this would have a happily-ever-after, there were many times that the story made me question that assumption. That in my mind is the mark of an excellent story.”
Dawn of Love Romances gives 4 ½ hearts and says, “THE DOM’S DUNGEON is one hot, well written story and I warn you, get the hanky ready because you are going to cry as well as sigh over MacKensie and Alex’s relationship. Ms. Sinclair is a gifted storyteller who knows how to create an emotional yet highly charged story for the reader to devour. I love the dynamics of an emotionally stunted MacKensie and the strong Dom, Alex. The scenes between them had me squirming one minute and the next sighing as trust begins to build between them. This is an author who really gets into her character’s heads and shows the reader their souls. Within minutes of opening THE DOM’S DUNGEON, I was swept away and when I finally closed the last page, it was with a satisfied smile on my face.
Meet MacKensie, a vet who wants a change. She decides to do a house swap with a man named Alex in Seattle and scope out the jobs there while she vacations for two weeks. What she finds is a locked door that opens her eyes to the world of D/s & BDSM. Alex was looking forward to trading houses with MacKensie but a fight at the airport has him missing his plane and he heads home to find that MacKensie is snooping in his dungeon. What happens next will change both their lives and they will find a love that will heal a broken heart. All I have to say is-Where can I find an Alex of my own? This guy is hot-hot-hot and he finds himself drawn to MacKensie in a way that startles him. As these two become more involved in the world of BDSM, MacKensie slowly learns to trust Alex and in the process, herself as well. Some wonderful secondary characters pop up and keep the story flowing nicely. I would love to see more stories around Seattle and Alex’s friends.
THE DOM’S DUNGEON is a well written story that will start off slowly and then simmer until it overloads your senses. I highly recommend either keeping a bucket of ice or your significant other nearby as you will get a tad hot and bothered. Ms. Sinclair is fast becoming my favorite author to read lately. I do have to mention, this story may have some things mentioned that you may find objectionable. THE DOM’S DUNGEON is one emotional and highly sensual ride from start to finish. If you enjoy a hot, erotic story set in the BDSM culture, then run to grab Cherise Sinclair’s THE DOM’S DUNGEON. I look forward to more wonderful stories from this author in the future.”
Jennifer from Romance Reviews Today - Erotic - says, “As Mac’s issues go much deeper than just sexual, she not only begins to explore her submissive side, but also what it’s like to be in a caring, romantic relationship. Both characters are likeable, and it’s captivating to watch Mac lose her wariness, and to see the tender yet dominant way Alex treats her. Both emotional and erotic, THE DOM’S DUNGEON is a tale I highly recommend.”
