Mickey says: The joy of finding a talented writer can be very rewarding in both the short and long term: having a new book to read and a future writer to add to your list of favorites. I am not quite sure what is more entertaining about Master of the Mountain, reading about the interactions between Logan and Rebecca, or envisioning those same interactions while reading their words on the page. I found myself chuckling out loud throughout the story as Rebecca contemplated her life, and while doing so stopped to give herself random, and often hilarious little pep talks as “encouragement.”
Ms. Sinclair seemed to enjoy herself thoroughly as evident in the snappy dialogue and the interesting scenes she used in describing her main characters. Perhaps, it was her inventive version of the 70's swingers scene, and how she added a contemporary aura to it with a BDSM flare that caught my attention. Or maybe it was her in-depth character studies, adding so many different personalities to her book, and giving her readers a wide variety to enjoy while reading rather than just the standard one or two. Whatever the reasons for the success of this particular book, and its author, Master of the Mountain is certainly a great book to read and one I recommend if this is an author you have somehow missed in the past.
Five Handcuffs from Swirly Girls. Presley says: There were so many things to like about this book i'm not sure where to start. Every single character had issues to overcome from the heroine and her fear of never being good enough because of her larger size to Logan's tormented nightmares he perceived as a danger to anyone around him, I found myself completely hooked in. I have to confess a weakness to the setting as well. A cabin resort in the mountains sounds pretty ideal and as a part of the Loose Id summer getaway line this was a perfect choice.
There were a few moments where I wanted Rebecca to tell off Matt so bad I couldn't stand it but that was quickly forgotten as the relationship between Rebecca and Logan took off into the dark side. Ahh the dark side... The BDSM aspects of this book are strong, accurately portrayed and scorching hot.
I highly recommend Master Of The Mountain by Cherise Sinclair an exciting and emotional journey you wont soon forget!

Not convinced? I will warn you if you aren't interested in a little BDSM then MASTER OF THE MOUNTAIN by Cherise Sinclair isn't for you. It wasn't hard core, but I would consider it moderate at best. Well let's start with a larger than average female ( I do love a "real" woman and not a beanpole), Rebbecca who is talked into attending a swinger's weekend in a remote cabin with her boyfriend. Apparently he has been a swinger for years and meeting with this group unbeknownst to her. For the sake of their bland and less than thrilling sex life she agrees, reluctantly I might add, to go with him in hopes that it will spark up their relationship. Poor Becca is really thrown for a loop, two actually. The first, she is completely and totally 100% unprepared for joining the swingers and when her boyfriend joins in with his old pals and she walks in with him and another woman she knows her relationship is over for good. And second ever since she walked in to the main cabin she was pulled towards the mysterious owner behind the desk, Logan.
And let me tell you that Logan is a delicious specimen, but damaged in so many ways from his time at war. Nightmares plague Logan's nights and become a harsh reality as he can't control himself enough to wake up, so he is torn up inside about hurting his brother physically during one horrific episode. He knows that a woman will never be a perm ante fixture in his bed, too afraid that if he let himself fall in love he could end up killing her and not even knowing it.
Becca and Logan can't help but gravitate to each other and he could care less that she doesn't sport a supermodels figure! Becca still insecure and not too sure as to whether to believe him or not gets involved with him. The girl can't help herself and that sexy beast Logan is just too hard to resist. This is where the BDSM comes in, as Logan is a Dom and won't accept anything less than a sub which he find out Becca is a true sub.
The sex is hot, hot, hot and just as your sure our HEA is on the horizon....... WHAM! You are blindsided by Logan's rejection of Becca which makes you want to cry. She is convinced that he is rejecting her because of her body, but he cares deeply for her and is falling in love, and just couldn't live with himself if he harmed her the way he did his brother. Or worse, kills her. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Logan win Becca back and with a heavy sigh finished the last chapter.

Four Hearts from Love Romances and More. Dawn says: MASTER OF THE MOUNTAIN is an interesting tale that had me sighing one minute and then squirming the next. You have a full-figured heroine and a scarred man, both with hang ups yet neither can deny the attraction between them that grows stronger with each encounter they have, sexual and non-sexual. I love these two characters together. Here you have two characters with flaws and hang ups that cause them to react in two different ways. Logan pushes Rebecca away, determined to save her from his nightmares and Rebecca feels rejected because she isn’t stick thin and full of scars. With two main characters that have the reader flipping the pages to see what happens next, Ms. Sinclair delivers a highly emotional and sensual story to keep the reader entertained.
Ms. Sinclair is fast becoming my favorite author in the BDSM genre. With a cast of characters that keep the story told, a dog that heals a woman’s fear and sensual seduction that has you panting in desire and dragging the significant other to the ground, Ms. Sinclair weaves a story that will leave you breathless and clamoring for more. I am hoping there will be more for Logan, Rebecca and the others who inhabit Master of the Mountain. If you enjoy a highly emotional and sexual story with great cast of characters, tight writing and fast paced storylines, then grab Master of the Mountain.

These writers know how to craft memorable characters and place them into situations that captivate the audience, creating compelling stories that elevate and bolster the genre as well as ensure a very loyal and devoted fan base as a result. I’m here to say that Cherise Sinclair has done just that. In her latest work, Master of the Mountain, there is no Club Shadowlands. But that’s a good thing, because the change of scenery demonstrates her ability to write the BDSM genre in a realistic setting, without the expected emergence of leather clad Doms, cuffed subs, and polished steel – don’t fret, you get a taste of that too.
There is plenty to rave about. As with her previous works, the story is wonderfully written, fast paced, and exudes pure unadulterated heat. The characters are well developed, relatable, and so very easy to love. It’s one of the many reasons I love Cherise’s work. She is as proficient at tugging at your heart as she is at speeding it along. There is more here than hot sex and a candy basket full of BDSM delights. You also have a man and woman that are unable to move into a future together because of events in the past that have molded and shaped them. Conflict is equally as important as sex, and the greatest erotica, in my humble opinion, always hinges on the writer’s ability to craft the most basic and fundamental foundation – an excellent story.
Master of the Mountain is a must read, and a definite keeper. If you’ve not experienced the fantastic work of Cherise Sinclair, now’s a good time to start.

Logan and Rebecca feel like real people struggling with real issues which make the story poignant and enthralling. This is a deeply emotional and moving story that grips the reader's heart. The swinging element to the story actually adds some humorous moments and helps to enrich the story, yet it doesn't overshadow it. The BDSM journey that the hero leads the heroine on is intense, erotic, and freeing. The edgy and dominant play emphasizes the enjoyment that both the hero and the heroine receive from sex that includes bondage, spanking, and toys. The sexual loving is intense, riveting, and a whole lot naughty! The ending will delight the reader and leave them clamoring for more!

Five Delightful Divas from Jen of Dark Diva Reviews for Master of the Mountain. Rebecca has set her whole life based upon the expectations of others and society. She has even made a list of the characteristics she needs to find in a husband, and she actually found someone that meets those requirements. There’s a problem though, her boyfriend wants her to take part in a swinger’s weekend to open up their sex life and to broaden her horizons in the bedroom. Rebecca agrees to give it a try and sets off with her boyfriend to a mountain lodge reserved exclusively for the swinging group’s weekend adventures. She quickly learns the lifestyle that this group enjoys is not for her, but that new knowledge leaves her out in the cold, literally. Logan is the owner of the lodge and the wonderful hero of our story. He finds Rebecca and brings her inside. Rebecca soon learns that while she doesn’t enjoy swinging, she is undeniably submissive. That works well for Logan who has been in the BDSM lifestyle for years as a Dominant. Logan takes Rebecca on a submissive journey showing her all the possibilities that there are in the lifestyle. What he doesn’t realize is that she is taking him on a journey of his own.
As with all the best heroes, Logan is stubborn and steadfast in his belief that he is protecting Rebecca by letting her go. By the time he figures out his error, Rebecca has moved and left no forwarding address. I loved Logan for all that he did to make Rebecca understand how desirable she was to him and to others, and Rebecca for all that she did to make Logan understand how necessary and loved he was in her life. The scenes throughout this book were vivid and you felt as if you were there with the characters, experiencing what they were experiencing right along with them. Cherise Sinclair did an excellent job writing these characters so that you could relate to both of them on some level. You could feel Rebecca and Logan’s anxiety, passion, understanding, anger, and love throughout the scenes of this book. And just in case you were wondering, the sex scenes were melt-your-socks-off hot. I definitely recommend this book. It’s intense enough for anyone well versed in the genre of BDSM to absolutely enjoy it from beginning to end, and at the same time people new to the genre will feel at home with Rebecca. You can walk right along with her on her journey. I honestly can’t wait to see if Ms. Sinclair has Logan’s brother on tap for her next book. I, for one, sincerely hope so.

Logan is strong and passionate. He understands Rebecca's needs and supplies a level of comfort for her submissive side to come out and play. Rebecca's confidence level soars professionally but diminishes personally. Her lush body has never been something she thought of as an asset until she met Logan. The couple worked well together regardless of the setting. There were moments where I expected Rebecca to lose her cool, but she took everything in stride. I appreciated that the most about her character. Rebecca never showed anyone the hurt, humiliation, or pain she felt, relinquishing their ability to inflict more of the same. From the plot to the characters, this fast-paced story was a joy to read.

Occasionally, I find a book that simply makes me jealous of the heroine, and I have to say, Master of the Mountain had me spitting mad that I wasn’t in Rebecca’s place! I want Logan, darn it! Nightmares and all, he can master me whenever or however he’d like. Rebecca’s character has issues with her weight, and she is a bit self conscious but not obnoxious in her phobia’s. Instead, she was just a very real character, and while I liked her, I still wished I could have been in her place. Rebecca’s boyfriend Matt was a jerk, and she defiantly traded up with Logan. He is an amazing Dom, and just a really nice guy.
The sexual scenes blew me away! From the first encounter to the very last, I was swept away in a sexual frenzy. There are various scenes of bondage that include toy’s whips, and multiple orgasms. The sex in this story is plentiful, and I loved each and every scene. Just remember, crank that air conditioning, and keep the toy box close before you start this book, trust me you’ll need it all.

4 ½ Smacks from Mistress Bella of Mistress Bella Reviews who says: I was hooked on this book from the very first page. I truly enjoyed the depth of the characters. It was great to see Rebecca grow and start to loose her insecurities and let herself feel good. Logan is a great alpha male. Dominating yet caring and with his own insecurities it makes him all the more endearing. The trust and love that blossoms between the two was a beautiful thing to read. The scene in the club was defiantly a wonderful show of their love and the way Logan gets her to trust his massive dog Thor was sweet.
This book is not to be missed. I cannot wait for more reads from this author, especially more from some of the other characters in this story. I would love to see Jake or Simon have their own story.

While it is loosely connected to the rest of Ms. Sinclair's BDSM series, in that we've met Logan before, Master of the Mountain is a stand-alone story and you can read it without any of the others. First off each book in the series is prefaced by a warning of the "This is fiction, if you try this at home remember Safe, Sane and Consensual" type, which is very responsible of any author handling such a potentially dangerous topic. Even more Ms. Sinclair doesn't dance around the darker side of BDSM, it's right there for the reader to see and understand the danger and possibility of injury. With a deft and delicate turn of phrase, Ms. Sinclair demonstrates how BDSM can often aid those people with physical and emotional scars, especially victims of abuse. In this book the heroine, Rebecca, has a poor body image due to abandonment by her father and reinforced by her mother. The support of the hero starts to heal that, but when he pushes her aside in an attempt to protect her from his own demons, he reinforces the idea that no one will ever find her attractive. Probably my favorite part of this book was when Rebecca decides to go to a BDSM club to see if it was the submission that she found so attractive or submission to Logan in particular. The way that Ms. Sinclair has the whole encounter structured emphasizes the need for caution in trying new things. Want to know what I mean? Go read the book; it is well worth the time.
