These little touches added to the overall flavor of the story and made me emotionally invested in not only Jessica and Master Z, but other characters as well. Ms. Sinclair, I hope you will return to Club Shadowlands soon.

The author is very knowledgeable about the bondage lifestyle and I have to say this is one of the best books I have read, for anyone thinking about trying the lifestyle. Ms. Sinclair not only wrote her story with all the safeguards woven within, she included a blurb about safety measures before you started reading the book. Ms. Sinclair definitely deserves kudos. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

There are many stories in the BDSM genre. Many of those stories include unique characters, but what makes Club Shadowlands different is that the characters are people you may know in your life. They have joys and fears and sexual inclinations. Jessica Randall knows nothing of the life, when she wanders in and gets the initiation of a lifetime. I liked that she had body issues. Who doesn’t? But I liked that she ignored her hang ups when she thought another woman was being harmed.
As a Dom, I came to like Master Z. He thrived on control, but when he understood his sub, he wasn’t afraid to yield a bit of that iron control. I liked that he valued Jessica as a person and loved her as is, not the world prescribed ideal of beauty.
If you want a steamy novella about trust, control, and honesty, then you want Club Shadowlands. I give this novel 4 ½ cherries.

His appeal is undeniable, and his abilities are quite numerous. The interaction between the characters is dynamic and leaves the reader wanting more. I look forward to reading more by this talented author.

When she meets Master Z and he begins to take care of her comforts, she is overwhelmed by her feelings for him. The sex in this book wasn’t too hot to handle that most would expect from BDSM but more of an introduction into a world that is brand new. I enjoyed that aspect of the story, letting the sex build up with the characters rather than forcing the sex. There are plenty of secondary characters who are all needed for Jessica’s journey into BDSM. There are plenty of visuals that stimulate the readers’ mind. I truly enjoyed Club Shadowlands and will be looking for more from Ms. Sinclair.
